The Pangalanes canal is a long succession of rivers, lakes and lagoons with rich vegetation (including the famous traveler's tree: Ravinala). It was developed for economic interest (evacuation of local products) and now it constitutes a major tourist site on the east coast.

8:30am : Depart by car from the hotel and drive to the embarkation port (15 to 20 minutes from the city center, depending on the traffic).

8:45am : Arrival at the river port and embarkation in a metal boat covered with a tarpaulin, equipped with life jackets, then navigation on the pangalanes canal. Discovery of the life scenes of the people who live along the canal, of the women and children who do the laundry. Traditional canoes and bush boats that carry goods and passengers. Passage at the mouth and small loop to go to the village of Ambokarivo.

9:45am : Visit of the 1st fishing village, a small village located between the ocean and the canal, a typical and original village.

10:40am : Arrival at the village of Amboakarivo, a small village located on the banks of the Ivondro river; Welcome by villagers and folk groups; Visit of the typical village of the east coast, women who plunder rice, young girls who do the braiding of the hair. Visit of the sacred place where the Malagasy ancestors worship; visit to a public primary school. Assistance with the traditional Malagasy marriage proposal of the Betsimisaraka ethnic group.

12pm : Return to the boat for lunch; in Tapakala village by the sea.

2:30pm : Return to the boat and navigation to Tamatave.

3:30pm : Arrival in the city center; visit of the craft market of the bazaar be and purchase of souvenirs.

4pm : Transfer to the hotel
